Engagement Dinner
A date has been set! Liliana and Aukai have agreed to host their wedding ceremony on Saturday, the first week of Autumn- the day after Spooky Day!
They've also decided on a wedding venue, a lovely beach spot in Tartosa called Felicita Sulla Sabia. It'd be a little bit chilly for a beach wedding, most likely, but they didn't want to wait any longer. Of course, before they held the actual ceremony, there were other events to host as well. Liliana would be the first of her generation to get married, and that was no small occasion!
Tonight would be their engagement dinner, the first formal announcement to the entire family. Though most of Liliana's uncles were unfortunately busy and unable to make it, they sent their congratulations and promised to be present for the actual ceremony.
Before that, though, Liliana and Aukai spent the morning getting a head start on their school assignments. It would certainly help them out later!
Liliana had taken up jogging in the early mornings before class. She loved the feeling of the breeze rushing past her, and seeing the sun creep up over the old Britchester buildings. She'd need to be in good shape for a career in Marine Biology, anyway!
While Liliana was out for her run, Aukai just happened to turn on the news. To his surprise, the announcer was discussing the discovery of a new kingdom neighboring Gibbi Point- the mysterious land of Ondarion, a beautiful land home to many noble dynasties and different climates. Queen Bianca had initiated negotiations with the new land, and it was looking hopeful that soon, Ondarion would join the Sim Nation.
Interesting as these developments were, they were far in the future still, and Aukai returned his focus to school and preparations for the engagement dinner. He and Liliana had agreed they would make their own food for the events, to save money on catering, and had decided that they would do Sulani-style desserts for the engagement dinner, and Ravenwood-style foods for the rehearsal on Wednesday.
For the actual wedding, they would probably hire a caterer. Vanessa had offered to bake them a wedding cake, though, as one of her and Teodor's gifts to the couple.
To kill time until the event started, Aukai and Liliana played a few rounds of Party Frenzy. It was nice, just spending time together like this.
Liliana and Aukai arrived to the Celabrazioni d'Amore Lounge in Tartosa an hour early, laying out the food and making sure the music was set. Liliana couldn't wait to see her family, and Aukai was eager to meet the rest of her cousins.
He'd invited some friends too, of course- Eugene Blackwood, his closest friend since grade school, and Kit, who he'd grown up with in the Copperdale Orphanage.
Teodor and Vanessa were a few of the first to arrive, and Liliana greeted them ecstatically. This was a relatively informal party, just a little get together to make sure everyone was aware of the engagement, and a nice excuse for a family reunion.
Aukai was quick to start making his rounds, introducing himself to everyone. Some of Liliana's cousins he was already familiar with, they'd gone to school together, but some of them he didn't know yet.
Everyone was enthusiastic to meet him, and eager to congratulate the couple on their engagement and upcoming wedding.
After a busy couple hours of introductions and accepting congratulations, Liliana and Aukai finally managed to steal a moment by themselves.
"And to think, this is without all your uncles." Aukai pointed out with a laugh.
"I know." Liliana giggled. "It'll be a big wedding."
"Worth every minute, though." Aukai told her before stealing a kiss. "Shall we join the dancing?"
"I think we should."
So they did. As they shared a dreamy slow dance to the romantic music, Liliana couldn't help but reflect on how lucky she was. Aukai was absolutely perfect for her, and she couldn't imagine ever being more enamored with someone.
As the party started to wind down, Aukai managed to catch Eugene before he left. The two spent a couple minutes catching up, before Aukai asked him:
"Would you be my man of honor, Eugene? I don't have any family, and you've always been one of my closest friends."
"I'd love to, Aukai. And congratulations, by the way. I'm very happy for you."
Liliana and Aukai got home from the party right around midnight, and immediately went to bed. Who'd have thought that dancing and socializing all night would be so exhausting?
At least now they could go to sleep in each other's arms, and be ready to attack the day together.
Hey guys, Paxxie here! Who else is excited for Royalty and Legacy in February? I know I am! I'm always eager for new worlds, and Ondarion looks gorgeous! The royalty system will also hopefully fit perfectly into some of the things I had planned for Generation 3!
I only wish I didn't have to wait! When the pack comes out, I might post a review if that's something people are interested in... otherwise, it'll come into play in the story later down the line!
Thank you for reading my posts so far, and I can't wait to see what else 2026 brings for The Sims 4!
