Liliana Constantin - Kava Party (Generation 3, Chapter 17)

 Kava Party

Vanessa came to visit Liliana and Aukai early the next morning, dropping off a gift- their wedding cake, fully prepared and decorated.
"Oh, Mama, you didn't need to do this so early!" Liliana exclaimed.
"I know." Vanessa laughed. "But I couldn't wait. Sometimes inspiration just strikes, and you have to follow it through. It'll last perfectly well in the fridge until Saturday."
"If we don't eat it." Aukai joked. "This looks incredible, Mrs. Constantin."
"Please, Aukai, call me Vanessa." She dismissed. "You're marrying my daughter, you're family now."

After Vanessa left, Liliana headed out to Tartosa while Aukai went to class. Their shops were unrivaled for wedding planning, and she needed a bouquet.
Of course, stopping at one of the Tartosian food stalls was a must. They had the most incredible sweet buns!

Liliana returned to the apartment with a delicate red rose bouquet, perfect for a beachy wedding. As she got ready to head to class herself, she started to think to reflect on her life so far. Her relationship with Aukai was everything she'd wanted and more, and she was doing very well in her classes... but she hadn't touched the one item on her bucket list, yet, which was to throw the best kava party ever.
She'd started that list in high school, but she stood by it. She loved anything to do with Sulani, and it was her dream home.

After class, Liliana discussed it with Aukai, who revealed that hosting a kava party was also part of his aspiration! Seeing as they were already caught up on all their homework, they decided to host one that evening.
They kept it to a small group, this time- just Eugene and the other adults of Liliana's generation. They'd see plenty of the extended family at the rehearsal dinner on Wednesday- which Vanessa had agreed to host on the Ravenwood Farm.

Ava, Ella, Eirwen, and Leia all came, giving them all a chance to catch up in a more casual setting. Ella was eager to hear about the places Liliana had visited so far, and Liliana promised she would pay the cafe a visit soon. (A cat cafe in Ciudad Enamorada would be a perfect spot for a date, anyway!)
Eirwen hadn't opened her business yet- she was still looking for a bartender, and preparing nectar to sell. She was hopeful it would be soon, though.

The party continued into the late hours of the night, everyone carried away by the conversation. Of course, as Liliana and Aukai tried to clean up after everyone had left, all of the plumbing broke down! Because why would anything be simple at 12am?

The annoyances continued when they woke up the next morning to find the apartment swarming with bugs. Luckily, Aukai happened to have a fumigation device that cleared up the infestation relatively quickly. Their landlord was very apologetic for the inconvenience, and sent them a cheque for their help in dealing with the infestation in their unit.
    First ghosts, now bugs...

As part of her aspiration, Liliana asked Aukai to become her mentor in Gemology. He happily agreed, and the two of them spent a couple hours out on the deck, teaching Liliana the basics of the skill.
Maybe it wasn't the right craft for her, given the number of times she pinched her fingers in the tools, but Aukai was encouraging.
"I injured my fingers a lot when I started out, too. You'll get the hang of it."

That evening, while Aukai and Liliana were watching TV before bed, Aukai's phone started ringing. When he answered it, there was an unfamiliar voice on the end of the line. They said they were calling on behalf of a recently deceased, distant relative who wanted to leave him a large inheritance... on one condition.
"You must get married in the next seven days."
Aukai almost wanted to laugh at the timing. Seven days? He was getting married in four!
"I think I can do that."
Trying out Canva for the first time for nicer post thumbnails! Let me know what you guys think of these!
